FinanciaLit was founded by Dos Pueblos High School student, Gabriele Scussat. Gabriele grew up in Santa Barbara with mom, dad, older sister, and his dog. He is passionate about finance and economics and is currently the president of the Dos Pueblos High School Investment Club. He is also an active member of his community and believes in the importance of taking action to improve it. For this reason, Gabriele started FinanciaLit with the hope of sharing his belief in the importance of financial knowledge with his peers.

Gabriele first came up with the idea upon reading alarming statistics regarding the finance of the US population. The amount of debt some US young adults accumulate is enough to keep them in debt for decades! However, he belives that if young adults were properly informed, they could understand and effectively use money management skills to build a sound financial future and avoid a number of pitfalls, such as making poor spending decisions and accumulating debt burdens.

In his free time, Gabriele enjoys surfing, sailing, and investing. Gabriele finds financial knowledge helpful in everyday life to make savy decisions. With the correct financial approach, you can make your future goals more achievable.
Overall, Gabriele wants to advocate for the importance of financial literacy and what you can achieve with it. He hopes to fulfill this through financialitedu.org.
